I say they are over-rated...

...that's right I said OVER-RATED!
Who am I specifically talking about? The Seahawks secondary.

Why do I say this? Simple. Have they faced a truly dominant WR corps this season with a very good QB?

They have faced a couple of rather good passing offenses such as the Packers, the Patriots, and the Lions.

Let's take a look at the passing numbers from those match-ups:

Packers: Although this was only the 3rd game of the season, this was perhaps their most impressive showing as a defensive secondary. They held Aaron Rodgers to 223 yards and no TDs. Having said this, he was also sacked 8 times that night. In essence, his offensive line was not protecting him very well that night. If his line had given him more time that night, then he undoubtedly would have had a bit better night. The Packers should still have won this game. The Seahawks got a bit of help at the end. I think we all know what I am talking about.

Patriots: Tom Brady threw at will in this game. Throwing for just short of 400 yards. The only reason that the Seahawks ended up in the game was because Brady made two very costly mistakes. But, Brady does what he does with much less than what Matt Ryan has.

Lions: The Lions, also a pass happy offense, passed for over 350 yards, as well. In this game, Calvin Johnson was not even the 2nd leading receiver. They used the speed of Titus Young to run past the Seahawks' defense. (No, I am not saying the Megatron is not fast.)  In the end, there were just too many targets for the Seahawks to cover.

The Falcons should be able to really impose their will on the Seahawks secondary with Julio, Roddy, and Tony. Additionally, I can see Harry having an impact on this game, as well. If the offensive line can hold up their end of the bargain (and they have been very good as of late), then Matt Ryan should be able to pick apart this secondary. They may be big and physical, but what are Julio and Roddy made for? They are two big, strong receivers that have always been physical at the line. Tony will be huge at the beginning of the game as the Seahawks have been susceptible to giving up yards down the seam and in the flats. Once they start to adjust for that, then it will be Roddy and Julio time.

My Prediction: 28-24 Falcons

IT IS TIME TO RISE UP!
