Are we for real? Today's the day we find out

From an early December post:

The division race comes down to Atlanta vs Seattle at the Dome, and SF vs NY in SF. Their assessment is that SF ends the Giants' season, while the Falcons prevail and celebrate our first playoff win in the Matt Ryan era against Seattle.

Looks like they called it right. Except of course, for the last step. They also had San Francisco over the Falcons in the NFC Championship game, which would be... today!

Not gonna happen. Today is the day that we prove it.
On paper it looks like a steep climb. Strong defense. Big mobile QB. Dominant line. 4-point favorites in Vegas. This is a tough team.

Click here for the cheat sheet.

BUT we all know that these games are not played on paper. And what will rule the day today is nothing that we've been talking about all week. It won't be Kaepernick. It won't be Matty, Roddy and Julio. It won't be Frank Gore or San Fran's oversized O-line. I believe that the outcome of today's game will be determined by one or two of Atlanta's "big fat guys" (John Madden's label for linemen), who will step up and have a monster game.

We know these guys, and we get that this is the NFL, and they are all good. But someone is going to play over their head today. Justin Blalock, Sam Baker, Tyson Clabo, Jonathan Babineaux, Kroy Biermann. Maybe we'll see a 100% John Abraham shutting down Kaepernick. Who knows? Perhaps today is the day that Peria Jerry becomes a household name across Falcons Nation.

Today's game is about who really wants it more. It won't be about the stats and the pundits narratives. Who wants it????

I predict a close game that the Falcons will prevail by 2 points on the strength of yet another Matt Bryant game-winner.

RISE UP Atlanta!!!!!
